Candidates must hold the following:

  • Maths GCSE A*-C or Application of Number Key Skills Level 2
  • English GCSE A*-C or Communication Key Skills Level 2
  • ICT GCSE A*-C or ICT Key Skill Level 2

Description

  • The Advanced Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media is aimed at learners who are interested in turning their creative and digital pastimes or enthusiasm, into a career in the Creative Media Industries. Ranging from production and editing, to animation, camerawork and photo imaging, this Advanced Apprenticeship will deliver the skills required by employers to compete and progress in a digital world.

Course Content

  • The apprenticeship programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following four components:

1. Level 3 Diploma in Creative and Digital Media (evidence from workplace)

2. BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Creative and Digital Media (delivered in college)

3. Personla Learning and Thinking Skills

4. Employment Rights and Responsibilities(ERR)

Units within the Level 3 Diploma include:

  • Awareness of employment in the creative media sector
  • Communicating and presenting ideas in the creative media sector
  • Create 2D animations for interactive media products
  • Undertake image asset management
  • Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.

Method of Assessment

  • The overall grade for this qualification is a pass. To pass the learner must achieve all the required units within the specified qualification structure.
  • Learners must provide evidence of their competence for each learning outcome. This evidence can be provided through products of learner’ work, observations, witness statements, simulation, questions and answers, expert witness statements.
