#GRAPHICS ARTWORK WORK EXPERIENCE FOR #FishHook COUNTRY/ FOLK/ ROCK/ PUNK BAND
“What’s going on is my band Fish Hook are looking for some graphics / artwork done that we can use for CD’s etc etc. We put the call out to artists in the form of a competition and I think it would be great to offer the college students the chance to enter as an opportunity to add work to their portfolio’s.”
COMPETITION TIME
Fish Hook are an up and coming Reading/Basingstoke based country rock ‘n’ roll band and they are looking for help from artists / graphic designers to get some artwork to use on CDs / T-shirts and all types of other merchandise.
They have opened this competition to the general public but would very much like to offer the opportunity to enter directly to students in Basingstoke as a means of not only winning the prizes mentioned below but as a great way of getting examples for their portfolio that they can say have been used in the real world rather than just examples of college work.

The Brief:
Fish Hook are looking for new artwork to use for all merchandise coming up.
Fish Hook are looking for artwork for CD’s, T-shirts, Stickers etc etc. Being that we are a country rock ‘n’ roll band we need something to express that. We would like the following aspects to be worked into the artwork:
- Old style microphone
- A fish hook (obviously)
- A nautical theme to fit with our name (similar to the Sailor Jerrys brand)
There is an element of punk in their music so things like skulls are not excluded from the designs as long as they fit with the over all theme.

North Hampshire Medical Fund
The 300,000 people covered by Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust deserve the best treatment using the most up-to-date methods and technology
The Medical Fund was founded in 1981 with three aims:
- To raise money to provide additional equipment and facilities in both hospitals and the community to supplement those provided by the Health Service.
- To ensure that the latest high technology equipment is available for the examination and treatment of patients.
- To promote medical research, education and care.
The Fund would like students to be involved in populating material for their website. The website has been outsourced and training will be given by the web company for the successful student.
The Student would need:
· To be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the technical skill expected for the role
· An analytical approach to website design,
· Attention to detail, excellent copy writing skills
Salary: Unpaid Work Experience
Hours: 4-5 hours, 1 day a week
