WEB/ SOCIAL MEDIA WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITY
The North Hampshire Medical Fund raises money for state of the art medical equipment that is beyond the reach of NHS budgets.
For example, they are currently running a major appeal to raise funds for an advanced radiotherapy planning CT scanner for a new Radiotherapy unit being built in the grounds of the hospital.
Since Tricia Munro has come in to the post the Charity has been working at raising their fundraising profile eg there is now a website, a leaflet and an annual newsletter.
Tricia has asked for input from a creative #bcotmedia student with good written communication and IT skills who can help them keep the website up to date and make use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
This is a great opportunity for you to do in a voluntary capacity to build up your CV?

FILM WORK EXPERIENCE
@ukhealthradio @healthkicksshow, the new not-for-profit health and wellness talk radio station which launched last December, is attending the MedXpo health professionals event in London on 4-6 July: www.medxpo.com
There are a number of very high profile speakers giving lectures - including some Nobel Prize winners and the Health Ministers from The Republic of Yemen and of Saudi Arabia.
#bcotmedia students have been given a chance to record the lectures and broadcast them at a later date on UK Health Radio.
If you are interested in gaining invaluable experience with travel costs and refreshments covered you would get an interesting experience of recording a live event that would be covered in Health Triangle Magazine ( www.HealthTriangleMagazine.com ).
The broadcasts would be included in the weekly Health Kicks Show (www.HealthKicksShow.co.uk ) which is syndicated to twelve local radio stations from Birmingham and Liverpool to Budapest and Arizona.

Val Cullum has offered #bcotmedia students a great opportunity to film this year’s ‘Cullum Dance Academy’ show.
Here is the information from Val…
It will be held on Friday 19th & Saturday 20th July 2013 with a technical run through on Thursday 18th.
There are six sections in this year’s show, 3 themed 3 non themed.
The themed sections are:
Attention – Military style
Angels and Demons – Dark Gothic style
Las Vegas – Burlesque/showgirl style
The non themed section
In the Mix 1, 2, 3 - contains singing and various dance style including freestyle, street, ballet, Irish and contemporary.
We would like to give your students the opportunity to come along and film the show, from the tech run to the performance.
The tech run gives you the chance to see behind the scene, for the set up and running of the show. It involves lighting, staging and sound, it also gives you an understanding of filming a live theatre performance, how to connect filming equipment to the sound decks and setting the placement of the cameras for the best shots. You will also get to see the performance before the actual show to give you a better understanding of where the dancers/performers are placed on the stage.
Doing two shows gives the film crew a chance to record the first and pick up on any errors with light, staging etc, and then have the opportunity to re film on the following evening’s performance.
As soon as I have Times for the Tech run I will let you know.

My name is Michelle Tuckwell and I own a gift shop in Oakley just outside of Basingstoke. My website is www.pippins.co.uk.
I am looking to find a stock photographer to take photographs within my shop. I am more than happy to set up an area in my shop with lighting etc. I would then need the images ready for web use achieved with photoshop.

Kicking K Design and Marketing are based in offices in Worting Park. The company currently consist of two partners. We work with a number of other local businesses including printing, copywriting and video production agencies. Our client base varies from a large group of IT companies to finance brokers small local businesses. We do a variety of work from brochures and direct mail to email marketing and web design.
There is currently a heavy emphasis on the design side though we still provide marketing strategy and budget planning for our larger clients.
General Duties
- General admin - filing, post, backing up files, possibly invoicing and scheduling jobs
- Inputting and maintaining contact databases - updating and verifying contact details, making appointments with prospects
- Email marketing for Kicking K and clients - schedule and report on emails through an email client
- Social media management - management of approx six companie’s social media profiles for Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Daily updates and maintenance.
Depending on skills and experience additional duties may also include:
Email marketing:
• Input on ideas for the design and content of email campaigns for Kicking K and client
• Create emails using the email client template system
• Analyse individual and campaign emails
Design, artworking and amends
• Make text amends to current documents e.g. spec sheets, mailers etc.
• Website amends
• In time we would expect input on more creative briefs as they come in e.g. brochures, direct mail and web design
Skills Required
• Must be organised and dependable
• Articulate with a good telephone manner
• Independent and confident to work on their own (after initial instruction) and use initiative
• Must be able use Excel and Word
• It would be a big advantage to have experience in InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver

Ranging from production and editing, to animation, camerawork and photo imaging, this Advanced Apprenticeship will deliver the skills required by employers to compete and progress in a digital world.

The apprenticeship programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following four components:
1. Level 3 Diploma in Creative and Digital Media (evidence from workplace)
2. BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Creative and Digital Media (delivered in college)
